Sir Alfred Munnings Exhibitions

This summer the Royal Academy of Arts is showcasing 250 years of works from their Summer Exhibitions.  The Exhibition is called, The Great Spectacle and is on display until August 19th.

Marking Alfred Munnings sixty year association with the Royal Academy of Arts, the Munnings Art Museum in Essex is exhibiting paintings, letters, artifacts and photographs showing the breadth of influence Munnings had on the institution from his first appearances in their Summer Exhibitions, to his role as President from 1944 to 1949 to a retrospective in 1956.

Sir Alfred Munnings at Mark Murray Fine Paintings

Alfred Munnings has long been a favorite artist of ours at Mark Murray Fine Paintings.  Currently we have two Munnings pieces available for sale.

The first piece, Going to the Post, has been off the market since the 1980's.   It is rare to get a quintessential Munnings racing piece and this one having been a Christmas present to his wife seems particularly poignant.

The second piece we have at the gallery is a Munnings self portrait done in Pen and Ink measuring 11½ x 9 inches.
