BIOGRAPHY
Richard Henry Nibbs was based in London and Brighton and painted landscape, genre, marine and and sea-battle subjects. He was a regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy during the years 1841 to1888; in addition, he showed works at the British Institution and the Royal Society of British Artists. One of the artist’s best known paintings, Queen Victoria Landing at Brighton in 1843, is in the collection of the Royal Pavilion, Brighton.
