ÉMILE VERNON PAINTINGS FOR SALE & BIOGRAPHY

ÉMILE VERNON

French, 1872–1919

BIOGRAPHY
Émile Vernon was a French painter and watercolorist best known for his portraits and genre scenes depicting beautiful women and children. His works also include several noteworthy still life paintings. His subjects are often clothed in gauzy, diaphanous material, transfixing the viewer with their pleasing and detailed features. As an academic artist of the Belle Epoque, Vernon moved among the artistic circles of Paris and exhibited his works in Paris and London. He is mentioned in Art Prices Current and by Miss Florence Levy.
