BIOGRAPHY
"David de Noter was the son of Jean Baptiste de Noter. He stayed in Brussels and Algiers. He took part in collective exhibitions, including the Salon de Paris in 1853 and the Brussels Salon in 1854. He received a vermilion medal in 1845 and a gold medal in 1854. He was included in the exhibition Painters from the Other Shore. Algiers 1830-1930 (Les Peintres de l'autre rive. Alger 1830-1930) at the Musée de la Castre in Cannes. This exhibition was organised as part of 'Djazaïr: A Year of Algeria in France' in 2003" (Benezit, Dictionary of Artists, Paris, 2006).
