BIOGRAPHY
Gustave Le Sénéchal de Kerdréoret was born in Hennebont (Morbihan) and was the captain of a liner. He studied with Jules Noël, Pierre Auguste Cot and Antoine Vollon. The artist made his debut at the Paris Salon in 1869 and subsequently was awarded medals at the Salons of 1883 and 1888. His paintings also received medals at the Exposition Universelle in the years 1889 and 1900. In 1900, Le Sénéchal de Kerdréoret was appointed a Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur.
