Albert Aublet

BIOGRAPHY
Born in Paris, Albert Aublet became one of the most successful graduates of the studios of Claudius Jacquand and Jean-Léon Gérôme. In 1881 he visited Constantinople, which led to an interest in the Orientalist subjects for which he became renowned. He received his first Salon medal in 1880, a gold medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1889 and was awarded the Légion d'honneur in 1890.
